I believe spiritual tools should feel personal and purposeful rather than generic. For that reason, the offerings here are intentionally limited and carefully curated. Each piece reflects a thoughtful approach to spiritual practice and the understanding that small, meaningful rituals can play an important role in how we focus our energy and attention.

From time to time, certain items may become unavailable as they sell out or while new pieces are being prepared. When that happens, I do my best to restock them when I’m able. I prefer to keep the process thoughtful rather than rushing production, so availability may occasionally change.

Everything offered here is meant to complement the personal spiritual path each individual is exploring. If something resonates with you, I invite you to explore the pieces that feel aligned with your intentions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intention Candles

Should each candle have its own intention?

Yes. Each candle should be used for one specific intention.

Before lighting your candle, write your intention on a small piece of paper and place it underneath the candle. This helps focus your energy and keeps the work centered on the outcome you are seeking.

Each Oak & Sage candle is curated and blessed for a specific purpose, so working with a single clear intention allows the energy of the candle to align more strongly with that goal.

Yes, cleansing your space beforehand is recommended.

Using sage, incense, or another cleansing method helps clear lingering energy and creates a fresh environment for your ritual work. Think of this as a reset before beginning your intention session.

For ritual work, candles should burn for a minimum of 20 minutes and up to two hours per day.

Although candles can burn for up to four hours, shorter sessions are recommended. Burning candles for extended periods can sometimes cause the wick to shift or curl within the melted wax.

If the wick moves off-center, simply extinguish the candle, allow the wax to cool slightly, and reposition the wick before lighting again.

Many people use a wick dipper (or wick hook) to help straighten the wick and extinguish the flame cleanly. These tools are widely available online.

Always burn candles on a heat-safe surface and away from drafts.

Yes. You may burn multiple candles simultaneously or work with them one at a time.

If you want to focus your energy on one intention, burning a single candle at a time can deepen that focus. If you prefer to support several intentions together, you may burn them at the same time. Allow your intuition to guide you.

You may lightly dab the oil onto your intention paper before placing it beneath the candle, or apply a small amount to the outer rim of the candle.

If you plan to apply the oil to your skin, always perform a small patch test first.

Is wick trimming necessary before lighting the candle?

Yes. Trimming the wick before lighting helps the candle burn more evenly.

Each candle order will include an instructional pamphlet with guidance on how to properly use your candle.

If your candle contains crystals, it is recommended to remove them before burning and place them nearby so they remain part of your ritual space.

No. Candles should never be left unattended while burning.

Remain present during your candle work for both safety and spiritual reasons, as your focus and intention are part of the ritual.

Stop burning your candle when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom.

Burning the candle all the way down to the glass can cause the container to overheat or crack. At this point, the work with the candle is considered complete.

You may keep the crystals as part of your ongoing intention work. Many people place them in a small bag under their bed or carry them in a purse or pocket.

Once the candle has finished its purpose, the container can simply be disposed of normally.

Candle flames and burn patterns can sometimes reflect the energy surrounding an intention.

A candle interpretation video will be available on the Oak & Sage website explaining how to read different burn patterns. Each candle order will also include an instructional pamphlet with guidance for working with your candle.
